Get cited by AI.

SmoothSeen audits your site twice: how Google sees it, and whether ChatGPT, Gemini or Perplexity can read and cite it. Then it tells you what to fix first.

Free, no card needed. Two reports: Google and AI.

Which hardware store in Leeds delivers trade supplies within 24 hours?

Several hardware stores in Leeds offer same-day or next-day delivery on trade orders1. It is worth checking the order cut-off time and whether delivery covers industrial estates2. Stores that publish their catalogue with prices and lead times are the easiest to compare3.

Your site has two readers.

Google decides whether you appear in the results. An AI decides whether it reads you, understands you and cites you in its answer. They are different exams, and SmoothSeen marks them separately.4

What each AI category checks

What your report looks like inside.

Every analysis opens a dashboard with what you need to decide what to fix and to show your client. And it measures your competitors with the same checks.5

Search visibility and AI visibility, each from 0 to 100, with the most serious issues first.

What only an AI audit looks at.

A classic SEO audit never asks whether ChatGPT can get into your site or what text reaches it. Here, that’s the first thing checked. Because your robots.txt can say yes while your server says no.6

  1. Who can get in, according to your robots.txt

Every AI crawler by name, separating the ones that decide whether you appear in answers (OAI-SearchBot, Claude-SearchBot, PerplexityBot) from the ones that only train models (GPTBot, ClaudeBot…). Blocking the latter is a legitimate choice and isn’t counted as a failure.

  2. Who can get in, according to your server

The page is also requested with the user-agent each crawler publishes. If the server or firewall answers it with a 403 while serving the page to a browser, the report says so: it’s a block that appears in no robots.txt.

  3. What text reaches it without JavaScript

ChatGPT, Claude and Perplexity read the HTML the server sends and don’t run JavaScript. The words in that HTML are counted against the rendered page: if almost everything arrives later, the page is empty to them, and the action plan puts it first.

  4. What kind of page it is, and whether it says so

Each page is classified as a product page, catalogue, local business, service, article or undeclared, and is asked for what its type needs: structured data, authorship, prices, opening hours. Whether you publish an llms.txt is checked too.

What ChatGPT and Gemini answer, every week.

From the Professional plan

The checks tell you whether an AI can cite you. This tells you whether it does: you write the questions a potential customer would ask and SmoothSeen puts them to ChatGPT and Gemini with web search turned on. An answer that doesn’t search the web doesn’t count.7

  1. Cited, mentioned or missing

For each question and each engine: whether your site is among the linked sources and in what position, or whether it only names your brand in the text.

  2. Who shows up instead of you

The domains the assistant cites when it doesn’t cite you: your competition in the answers, question by question.

  3. Every week, with its trend

Up to 50 questions on the Agency plan and 10 on Professional, checked every week and whenever you want. You see the share of answers that cite you over the last 30 days and how it changes.

Who shows up instead

hardware-example.co.uk, directory-example.com

Who beats you, at what, and what to fix first.

Up to 3 competitors per client, measured with the same checks as your site. It isn’t a table of scores: it’s what they do and you don’t. And you don’t have to look for them: they’re the ones beating you on Google.8

  1. What they do and you don’t

Sorted by how many competitors already do it: if all three do, it’s the first thing worth fixing.

  2. Your advantages, and what nobody has

What you do and they don’t, so you can defend it; and what none of them does, which is the chance to be the only one.

  3. An action plan with arguments

The findings from both scores, turned into tasks sorted by what matters most to fix. Each task says what to do, why it matters and how many of your competitors already do it.

  4. The analysis suggests them, you decide

Competitors are detected automatically and can be changed by hand. Each one analysed uses one analysis from the monthly quota, but doesn’t appear in your client list.

Next month, what has changed.

An analysis is a snapshot. To show your client the work done you need the next one, measured the same way. And if a score drops 5 points or more, you hear about it by email.9

  1. Before and after

Compare an analysis with any of the client’s 12 previous ones: what was fixed, what’s new and what’s still pending.

  2. Scheduled analyses

Each client is re-analysed on its own and you choose which page is watched: monthly on Professional, weekly on Agency and daily on Enterprise.

  3. Alerts with your brand

The alert email brings the drop and the link to the report and, with white label on, carries your agency’s name.

Frequently asked questions

What is AI positioning (AEO and GEO)?

It means getting assistants such as ChatGPT, Gemini or Perplexity to read your page, understand it and cite it as a source in their answers. AEO focuses on giving direct answers; GEO, on generative engines choosing you as a source.

How is it different from traditional SEO?

SEO aims to get you into Google’s results. AI positioning aims to get you cited inside the answer. They share the technical basics, but an AI also rewards a direct answer, quotable facts and clarity about who you are.

What exactly does SmoothSeen measure?

Two things about each page: its web positioning (crawling, speed, content, security and structured data) and its AI positioning (AI crawler access, direct answers, quotable content, markup and local signals). From both it builds an ordered action plan.

Can I compare my site with my competitors'?

Yes. You choose up to three competitors, or accept the ones the analysis suggests from who appears ahead of you in Google, and you see check by check who passes each one, your advantages and what none of them has.

How long does an analysis take?

A few minutes. Both halves of the report are measured in parallel and the dashboard lets you know as soon as they finish.

Can I present the reports under my own brand?

Yes, on the Agency plan: the PDF and the share link carry your name, logo and colour.

Would an AI cite you today?

Paste your address and you will know in a few minutes.
